What does a support worker do?
The role is varied depending on the client’s needs and interests. In general, you will provide practical support in a range of services including, but not limited to:
- support with all aspects of personal care
- administration of medications
- assistance with social & community participation
- meal preparation
- all transport needs including specialist appointments, shopping, work and school runs
- assistance with household/domestic tasks
- skills retention and development
- implementing positive behaviour support plans
